The Christian Association of Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on insecurity across the country amid growing concerns over violent attacks and criminal activities.
The association expressed concern over the persistent security challenges affecting several parts of Nigeria, including incidents of banditry, kidnappings, and attacks on communities.
CAN urged the government to take decisive measures to protect lives and property, stressing that the safety of citizens should remain a top national priority.
According to the association, the worsening security situation requires urgent intervention and stronger collaboration among security agencies to curb criminal activities and restore public confidence.
The group also appealed to political leaders, traditional institutions, and community stakeholders to support efforts aimed at addressing insecurity and promoting peace across the country.
The call comes amid increasing public concern over security challenges in different regions of Nigeria and renewed demands for more effective responses from relevant authorities.
