OSOGBO — Pelumi Olajengbesi, the campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has threatened to file a ₦10 billion defamation suit against Senator Francis Fadahunsi over alleged statements questioning his identity and linking him to cult groups .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Olajengbesi, through his lawyer Hammed Lasisi, issued a letter dated August 12, 2026, demanding an immediate retraction and public apology within 24 hours over remarks made during live television interviews .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the statements in question were made during Fadahunsi’s appearances on Viable TV on July 2, 2026, and Channels Television’s Politics Today on August 11, 2026 . The letter alleged that Fadahunsi claimed Olajengbesi was “not even from Ijebu-Jesha” but “from somewhere in Ogun State,” and accused him of “using thugs, Eiye and Aye” cult groups .
Olajengbesi described the allegations as false, defamatory, and gravely injurious to his personal, professional, and political reputation, stating that he has never sponsored or supported any cult group or its members for criminal or political activities .
The letter demanded an unequivocal public apology through national media and social platforms, failing which Olajengbesi would approach the court to compel Fadahunsi to pay ₦10,000,000,000 in general and aggravated damages for defamation and injurious falsehood .
