Ahead of the 2027 general elections, growing calls are emerging across Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency backing Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji as the candidate best positioned to represent the people at the National Assembly.
Orji, a former Speaker of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly and one-time Majority Leader, has built a public service record that supporters describe as distinguished by purposeful legislative leadership. During his tenure as Speaker, he was credited with initiating the renovation of the Abia State House of Assembly complex and facilitating the live streaming of plenary sessions, a move that drew commendation from several media platforms at the time.
Having previously contested the seat in 2023, Orji has since declared his renewed intention to represent the constituency, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, pledging effective representation, stronger constituency engagement and development-driven legislation.
His candidacy has attracted notable endorsements, including from the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, which described him as a leader whose track record should outweigh campaign promises, and from elder statesman Senator Chris Adighije, who praised his legislative antecedents.
For a constituency seeking experienced, results-oriented representation at the federal level, backers argue that Orji’s legislative background and consultative engagement make him a strong choice heading into 2027.
