Senate Confirms Bernard Doro as Humanitarian Affairs Minister

ABUJA–The Nigerian Senate has officially confirmed Dr. Bernard Doro as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The confirmation took place during Thursday’s plenary session, completing President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle.

Dr. Doro, a technocrat from Plateau State, was screened by lawmakers for less than 30 minutes. He pledged to foster a humanitarian system based on “impartiality and independence.”

Satisfied with his credentials, the Senate asked him to take a bow and leave, confirming his appointment without any opposition.

Doro, who holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, brings over 20 years of professional experience in clinical practice and strategic leadership to the role.

He takes over from Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who was recently appointed as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
