Political momentum is building in Abia South as Mayor Lucky Igbokwe officially inaugurated a new grassroots political structure, an event further energized by the donation of six buses from Chief Erondu Jr for mass mobilization.
The ceremony, which drew thousands of supporters, party faithful, and community leaders, was held at a central venue in Obingwa Local Government Area. The new structure is designed to strengthen political engagement at the ward and local government levels, ensuring effective voter education, sensitization, and mobilization ahead of future elections.
In his address, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe charged members of the newly inaugurated structure to remain committed to the principles of inclusive governance and grassroots development. He emphasized that the era of top-bottom politics is over, and that real change begins at the community level.
“We are building a movement that listens, serves, and delivers. This structure is not for personal glory but for the collective good of Abia South,” Igbokwe stated.
The highlight of the event was the surprise donation of six fully branded buses by Chief Erondu Jr, a prominent philanthropist and political strategist. The buses, according to organizers, will be deployed across the six local government areas in Abia South to facilitate door-to-door mobilization, transport supporters to rallies, and enhance logistical coordination.
Chief Erondu Jr explained that the donation is part of his commitment to empowering grassroots political participation and ensuring that the voice of the common man is heard. “Mobilization is key to electoral victory. These buses are tools for the people, by the people,” he said.
Political observers see the development as a major boost for the political realignment in Abia South ahead of the 2027 general elections.
