As the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries draw near, frontline aspirant Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma is presenting himself to the people of Abia Central Senatorial District as the candidate best equipped to deliver quality representation—offering a proven blend of competence, integrity, and vision.
Atuma, who served as a member of the House of Representatives (Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency) from 2003 to 2007, has consistently reminded stakeholders and delegates that his track record of impactful legislation and visible constituency projects sets him apart from other aspirants.
“I am not new to the National Assembly. I understand the terrain, the rules, and the expectations. I have sponsored bills that became law and attracted projects that are still serving our people today. I offer competence, integrity, and a clear vision for Abia Central,” Atuma stated during his consultation tour across the six local government areas of the senatorial district.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Atuma has also pledged to run an all-inclusive representation that will cut across party lines and benefit every community in the zone, regardless of their political affiliation. He has repeatedly emphasized his commitment to zoning and political equity, vowing to serve only one term to allow power to rotate to Isiala Ngwa North for eight years.
“Leadership is about service, not self-perpetuation. I am here to offer quality representation, not to cling to power,” he said.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Atuma’s campaign has gained significant momentum in recent weeks, with endorsements from the Abia Central Students Association, political groups like the KABILA Movement and Emeka Atuma Grace Movement, and stakeholders across all six LGAs.
The APC senatorial primary for Abia Central is scheduled for May 18, 2026.
