Abuja, Nigeria – The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has officially debunked reports circulating online alleging the removal of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as its chairman.
In a statement issued Thursday in Abuja, the Forum described the claims as “mischievous and entirely false.” The PGF insisted that Uzodimma continues to lead the body with the full confidence of all APC governors.
PGF debunks report of Uzodimma’s removal, says APC governors remain united behind the current leadership structure. According to the Forum, there is no division or plot to replace the Imo governor.
“Our members are cohesive and focused on supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration,” the statement read. “Those peddling rumors of a leadership change are simply seeking attention.”
The false report had surfaced on social media earlier this week, suggesting internal cracks within the ruling party’s state chief executives. However, the PGF has now set the record straight.
Political analysts say the swift rebuttal underscores the APC governors’ determination to present a common front ahead of future national assignments.
