Zulum Visits Tinubu in Lagos, Formally Presents Borno APC Governorship Candidate Mustapha Gubio to President

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has paid a formal courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCR) at his Lagos residence, formally presenting the Borno State APC governorship candidate, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, to the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit underscores the growing political alignment and unity within the APC family in Borno State as the party consolidates its structures ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested electoral season.

Engr. Mustapha Gubio had earlier emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Borno State, unopposed, following a consensus arrangement that reflected a strong and unified position among all party stakeholders across the state.

Presenting Gubio, Governor Zulum expressed deep appreciation to President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their unwavering support, stating: “I want to convey my deepest appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and indeed my boss, Senator Kashim Shettima, for all the support they have rendered to us that has ensured the consensus that led to the emergence of Alhaji Mustapha Gubio.”

Zulum also lauded the President’s unwavering commitment to peace and reconstruction in the Northeast, noting that his leadership has been instrumental to the APC’s cohesion and progressive governance in the region.

Accepting the formal presentation, Gubio expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, and Governor Zulum for their leadership and commitment to restoring peace and development in Borno and the wider Northeast region, pledging to advance the development of the state and lead with the fear of God if elected in 2027.
