Justice Comes From Courts, Not Streets – Presidency Warns Activist Sowore

The Presidency has issued a stern warning to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, stating that justice is delivered in courtrooms and not through street protests.

In a statement on Monday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Sunday Dare, criticized protests led by Sowore demanding the release of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. Dare described such demonstrations as counterproductive and a threat to the rule of law.

He emphasized that protests and civil unrest cannot be used to influence the case of someone accused of terrorism, noting that Kanu’s legal matters predate the current administration and are solely within the jurisdiction of the courts. The Presidency urged for calm and respect for the judicial process.
