Police Ban #FreeNnamdiKanu Protests Around Aso Rock

The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning against any protests demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu in the vicinity of Aso Rock Villa and other key government areas in Abuja.

This directive follows a recent order from the Federal High Court in Abuja, which restricted such gatherings around the Presidential Villa, National Assembly, and other sensitive locations.

Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that any person or group attempting to protest in these banned zones will be dealt with decisively. He emphasized that the force will arrest and prosecute offenders for disturbing public order, with inciters on social media also facing investigation.

The Inspector-General of Police has directed the FCT Commissioner of Police to ensure strict enforcement of the court order, urging protesters to channel their grievances through the courts instead of the streets.
