The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has raised a serious alarm, alleging that his signature was forged on the official notice for the party’s upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
Senator Anyanwu has formally petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Inspector General of Police over the matter. He claims that the document calling for the NEC meeting, a precursor to the national convention, was circulated without his knowledge or approval.
This allegation introduces a new wave of internal crisis for the main opposition party, potentially threatening the legitimacy of its convention process. The PDP has yet to issue an official response to the claims made by its own national secretary.
