A heartbroken grandmother, Madam Folashade Adeyemo, has made a passionate appeal to the Oyo State Government and security agencies following the Oyo school abduction, as the woman cries out that her four grandchildren and daughter-in-law are still in the forest with their abductors.
Gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked a community secondary school in Oyo town last Thursday, whisking away 15 students and three teachers. Among them are Madam Adeyemo’s four grandchildren — aged between seven and twelve — and their mother, who is a teacher at the school.
“Please, government, help me. My grandchildren are babies. My daughter-in-law has a heart condition. I cannot sleep. I cannot eat,” the weeping grandmother told CDA News Nigeria.
Security operatives have launched a search operation, but no rescue has been confirmed. The abductors are yet to make contact with families.
The Oyo State Government has assured residents that all kidnapped victims will be rescued unharmed. Meanwhile, protests have erupted in the community, with parents blocking roads to demand action.
