CHIKA ISHIONWU ASSURES IKWUANO PEOPLE OF BETTER DAYS AHEAD

As Nigerians celebrate Democracy Day, frontline Ikwuano political figure and grassroots development advocate, UGWUMBA Chika Ishionwu, has assured the people of Ikwuano that brighter days lie ahead, declaring that “joy is coming” to every community across the local government.

In a Democracy Day message made available to CDA News, Ishionwu said he is currently focused on assembling a workable development blueprint and a team of competent, committed individuals who share the vision of building a more prosperous Ikwuano.

According to him, the goal is to ensure that every son and daughter of Ikwuano benefits from purposeful leadership and people-centered governance.

The For Us, By Us movement leader revealed plans to establish four constituency offices across the four clans of Ikwuano, a move aimed at bringing leadership closer to the people and strengthening grassroots engagement.

He explained that the offices would serve as direct channels through which constituents can interact with their representatives, make their concerns known, and actively participate in shaping the future of the area.

Ishionwu also emphasized that his leadership philosophy would be anchored on unity, reconciliation, and inclusiveness. He stated that a “No Victor, No Vanquished” approach would guide his administration, stressing that the development of Ikwuano transcends political differences.

“I am willing to work with everyone, including those who have consistently opposed or fought against us, provided the objective remains the progress of our people and the realization of the One Ikwuano, For Us, By Us vision,” he stated.

In what many residents are expected to welcome as a relief measure, Ishionwu announced that beginning in September, the Free Bus Shuttle Initiative to Ahia Ndoro and back will resume. The initiative, which previously recorded success during its pilot phase, is expected to ease transportation burdens on traders, farmers, students, and other residents facing the realities of the current economic climate.

Observers have described Ishionwu as a bold but humble servant-leader whose influence over the years has been driven largely by community service, youth empowerment, educational interventions, agricultural support programs, and a consistent commitment to grassroots development.

He concluded by calling on all sons and daughters of Ikwuano to embrace unity and collective responsibility in building a better future for the area.

“Together, we can achieve the Ikwuano of our dreams. Together, we can ensure that development reaches every community. Together, we can prove that when one person wins, we all win.”

The Democracy Day message ended with the movement’s popular slogan:

“I Win, You Win! I Rise, We Rise! For Us, By Us!
