Ex-Deputy Governors Forum Re-elects Akomas, Inaugurates Review Committee for Tinubu’s Agenda

ABUJA – The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria (FFDGN) has re-elected Dr. Chris Akomas as its National Chairman for a second term and inaugurated a 14-member committee to drive the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda .

The decisions were ratified during the Forum’s General Meeting and Congress in Abuja on Monday . Alongside Akomas’ re-election, new executive members were inaugurated for a three-year term .

In his acceptance speech, Akomas thanked the forum members and outlined his commitment to the group’s objectives. “We hereby accept today’s task of continuing to serve the Forum. We promise to do our best,” he stated, while also appealing for continued support from members .

A key focus of the meeting was the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Agenda Peer Review Group (RHAPRG). Akomas confirmed the 14-man committee will serve as a strategic advisory body to assess, evaluate, and guide the effective implementation of the federal government’s agenda .

“The committee’s recommendations will serve as an advisory mechanism to the government and citizens, promoting accountability and inclusiveness in governance,” Akomas said. He added that the group’s goal is to ensure the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda are achieved efficiently and equitably .

A former deputy governor of Kogi State, Isah Ozi Salami, was inaugurated as the chairman of the newly formed RHAPRG committee . He mentioned that the members were carefully selected to represent all of Nigeria’s geopolitical zones . The committee plans to identify areas of progress and potential drawbacks in the agenda’s implementation and propose solutions to the government via the Forum .
