Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has dismissed reports claiming she criticised the church’s leadership for allegedly neglecting her father’s legacy.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Adewale, in a statement shared on her official Facebook page, described the viral publication attributed to her as false, insisting she never made the comments circulating online.
She clarified that her late father never sought earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about whether his name or image appeared on church buildings or institutions.
According to her, the greatest legacy left behind by Pa Akindayomi was the lives he impacted rather than physical structures or monuments. She also recalled that her father was reluctant to acquire personal property during his lifetime, stressing that public recognition was never his priority.
Adewale further alleged that the false reports were intended to create unnecessary controversy and division within the church. She urged those responsible for spreading the claims to desist from promoting misinformation.
CDA News gathered that she also reaffirmed her support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for God’s wisdom and strength upon him, his family and the church leadership as members prepare for the church’s annual convention.
