Zamfara Sees Major Turnaround in Security, Education, and Infrastructure Under Governor Lawal

Zamfara – Under the leadership of Governor Dauda Lawal, Zamfara State is experiencing a significant transformation. Through his administration’s focused ‘Rescue Mission’ agenda, the state has seen rapid improvements in security, education, and public infrastructure since he took office in 2023.

Facing severe insecurity, Governor Lawal made security a top priority. His government established the Zamfara Community Protection Guards and provided 140 operational vehicles to security agencies. These efforts have led to the neutralization of several notorious bandit leaders, restoring a sense of safety in many communities.

In education, the Governor declared a state of emergency. His administration cleared a ₦1.4 billion debt that had prevented students from receiving their exam results. Over 500 schools have been renovated, and major tertiary institutions are undergoing significant rehabilitation.

Healthcare has also been revitalized. A state of emergency declaration was followed by the renovation of general hospitals and a flagship Free Medical Outreach Programme. This initiative has provided free life-changing surgeries to thousands of residents.

Key infrastructure projects are also advancing. The Gusau International Airport is 70% complete, and an Urban Renewal Project is improving road networks across the state capital.

With a motivated workforce and re-engagement with global partners, Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration is building a foundation for a more secure and prosperous Zamfara.
