The Amizi Development Association (ADA), Home and Abroad, has invited members of the public, friends, associates, and well-wishers to the wake-keep and burial ceremonies of the late Dr. Daniel Okiyih, a respected community leader and the first Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the invitation was extended on behalf of the association by the Oloko Clan President-General, Mr. Uche Usuwa, who called on family members, friends, and the general public to join in celebrating the life and legacy of the late statesman.
According to information gathered by CDA News from the announcement, the wake-keep will hold on Thursday, August 6, 2026, while the burial ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, in Amizi, Abia State.
Dr. Okiyih was widely respected for his contributions to politics, community development, and public service. As the pioneer Chairman of the PDP in Abia State, he played a significant role in laying the foundation of the party and mentoring many political leaders.
The Amizi Development Association described the late Dr. Okiyih as a beloved cousin, brother, father, and uncle whose life of service and dedication will remain a lasting inspiration to his family, community, and the people of Abia State.
CDA News Nigeria gathered from the report that family members and community leaders are expected to receive sympathisers and dignitaries during the funeral activities in honour of the late elder statesman.
