LONDON — Premier League giants Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray, intensifying competition for the prolific forward’s signature .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Manchester United, along with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, have held internal discussions regarding the availability of the Super Eagles star . However, reports indicate that no club has yet made a formal approach or advanced to the bid stage for the 27-year-old, who has scored 61 goals in 75 appearances for the Turkish champions .
CDA News Nigeria reports that Arsenal’s interest in Osimhen was reportedly mentioned during negotiations with Galatasaray over potential deals involving Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri . While the player appears open to a move, having told reporters after scoring a brace: “There are always rumours during transfer seasons… I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further” , Galatasaray has made its stance clear.
Club president Dursun Ozbek has insisted Osimhen is not for sale at any price, telling his inner circle: “No matter how much the price is, I am not selling Osimhen” . This follows the Turkish club’s rejection of a €130 million (£111 million) offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal . Financial demands could also pose a challenge, as Osimhen’s current package at Galatasaray is among the highest in the Turkish top flight .
