Corrections and Clarifications Policy

Corrections and Clarifications Policy

CDA News Nigeria recognises that accuracy is essential to public trust. When we identify a material error in published content, we aim to correct it promptly and transparently.

How to report an error

Email info@cdanews.ng with the article URL, the specific passage in question, the proposed correction and any supporting documents or reliable evidence. Please include your contact details so the newsroom can follow up if necessary.

How we review reports

The newsroom reviews the claim and supporting evidence, checks relevant records and sources, and may contact the reporter or people concerned. Submission of a complaint does not automatically mean that an article is inaccurate or will be removed.

Corrections and updates

When a material factual error is confirmed, we will correct the affected content and, where appropriate, add a correction note explaining what changed. Significant updates may be identified with an updated date or editor’s note. Minor spelling or formatting fixes that do not alter meaning may be made without a separate note.

Disputed claims and removal requests

We assess disputes on their evidence and public-interest context. We do not promise removal solely because a person or organisation objects to coverage. Where relevant, we may publish a response, clarification or follow-up report.

Send correction requests to info@cdanews.ng with the subject line “Correction Request.”
