Umuahia, Abia State – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has condemned a viral skit it claims promotes political intolerance and incites violence, urging security agencies to investigate the matter.
In a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the party described the content as “reckless and dangerous,” alleging that the skit maker is closely associated with the administration of Governor Alex Otti.
The APC further claimed that public resources may have been used, directly or indirectly, to support such content.
The opposition party warned that the spread of provocative materials could threaten the peace and democratic stability of the state, particularly as political activities begin to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Consequently, the APC called on key security institutions, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, to urgently investigate and hold accountable anyone linked to the alleged incitement.
The party also expressed concern over what it described as a growing trend of inflammatory rhetoric in the state’s political space, urging the government to prioritize unity and public safety over partisan interests.
Reaffirming its commitment to democratic principles, the APC maintained that Abians must be allowed to freely exercise their voting rights without fear, intimidation, or coercion.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Abia State Government regarding the allegations.
