African Democratic Congress leaders have descended on Ado Ekiti, urging residents to reject the All Progressives Congress and vote for the party’s governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, in Saturday’s election.
National Chairman David Mark and National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola led the mega rally, describing ADC as the only credible alternative to salvage Ekiti from poverty after three and a half years of APC governance.
“Vote for our candidate, Bejide, so that the Ekiti of your dream can be built,” Mark told supporters.
Aregbesola, a former Osun State governor, dismissed claims that ADC lacked the strength to challenge the ruling party.
He maintained that Governor Biodun Oyebanji could not win reelection on performance record alone, alleging APC would rely on manipulation.
“The APC has failed at the three tiers of government. They may want to underestimate the opposition because of appearances, but such assumptions will prove costly,” Aregbesola warned.
He urged women to vote in their numbers and ensure their ballots counted, declaring ADC would triumph if the process remained free and fair.
The election holds Saturday with security forces already mobilized across the state.
