Adesanya-Davies Calls for Peaceful Action, Urges Government to Rescue Abducted Students and Teachers

Adesanya-Davies, has joined the nationwide “Bring Our Children Back” campaign, calling for urgent action to rescue abducted students and teachers in Oyo and Niger states.

In a press statement issued in Port Harcourt, she condemned the abductions, stressing that educators and pupils should never become victims of violence.

“The chalk must speak louder than the gun. No teacher should die in service to humanity. It is not an offence to send our children to school,” she said.

Prof. Adesanya-Davies expressed sympathy with affected families and communities, noting that parents continue to endure pain and uncertainty as many victims remain in captivity.

While commending President Bola Tinubu for protecting freedom of speech and acknowledging ongoing rescue efforts, she urged the Federal Government, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and Niger State Governor Umar Bago to treat the crisis as a national emergency.

She also praised peaceful solidarity protests by parents, teachers, and civil society groups, urging demonstrators to embrace dialogue and avoid violence.

Prof. Adesanya-Davies further called for improved school security, regular updates on rescue operations, justice for perpetrators, and long-term solutions addressing poverty, unemployment, and insecurity.

“We believe these innocent children will return home safely, but faith must be matched with decisive government action,” she concluded.
