ABUJA, NIGERIA — De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI) has raised concerns over what it described as a growing wave of fake online identities impersonating the organization and spreading misinformation linking it to cult activities.
In a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja, the group’s International Publicity Secretary, Mr. Anugom Darlington, said certain individuals and coordinated networks have been using social media platforms to falsely represent the organization.
According to the statement, these activities involve unauthorized use of DNKI’s name, logo, and insignia to create misleading narratives capable of damaging its reputation.
The organization said internal findings indicate a deliberate attempt to associate DNKI with cultism and criminal behavior, claims it firmly rejected.
DNKI insisted it is a humanitarian body registered with Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission and operates under strict membership guidelines that include educational qualifications and verifiable means of livelihood.
The group also warned that such misinformation could mislead young people and create unnecessary fear among the public through fabricated security reports circulated online.
DNKI disclosed it is working with security agencies to identify those responsible for impersonation, cyberstalking, and online defamation linked to the organization.
The body urged members of the public to rely only on its verified communication channels for accurate information and to ignore unverified online platforms claiming to represent the organization.
