LAGOS — The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled an international cocaine trafficking cartel that allegedly used Nigeria as a transit hub for moving illicit drugs to the United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia, arresting its alleged Nigerian ringleader, a self-styled luxury goods dealer and social media influencer known as “KC Luxury” .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the agency intercepted 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in a consignment at a courier logistics company in Lagos, valued at an estimated N39 billion . This represents the largest cocaine seizure recorded at a courier company in Nigeria .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), disclosed this while addressing journalists on Tuesday, describing the operation as one of the agency’s most significant investigations in recent times .
The investigation uncovered a network of intermediary companies and individuals, leading to the arrest of two key suspects. The first, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, a logistics company employee, was found to be directly connected to the cartel’s Nigerian coordinator .
The second suspect, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, known as “KC Luxury” to his 700,000 Instagram followers, was identified as the Nigerian “arrowhead” of the cartel . Marwa revealed that Michael was apprehended on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of Murtala Muhammed International Airport while attempting to flee to Paris on a business-class flight . He was found with €7,750, £2,800, N100,000, and expensive jewelry, while a search of his Banana Island residence led to the recovery of exotic vehicles .
Marwa noted a shift by drug traffickers towards courier and logistics companies, which they wrongly assumed are softer targets. “To those who believe they can hide behind luxury brands… this Agency will find you,” Marwa declared .
