ABUJA – A faction of the Labour Party (LP) has initiated moves for internal reconciliation following a recent court victory affirming its leadership structure.
The group, led by Chairman Julius Abure, announced the conciliatory step on Wednesday, urging all aggrieved members and former factions to unite for the party’s progress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This comes days after the Court of Appeal upheld the legitimacy of the Abure-led National Working Committee, dismissing a challenge by a rival faction.
In a statement, the faction expressed commitment to “inclusive dialogue and genuine reconciliation” to strengthen the party’s cohesion and electoral prospects.
Political observers see this as a strategic move to consolidate support and present a united front following months of internal disputes.
