GANDUJE’S EX-MEDIA AIDE DUMPS APC, JOINS ADC

KANO, NIGERIA – A former media aide to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially dumped the ruling party and defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The defection, confirmed in a statement issued in Kano on Monday, marks the latest high-profile exit from the APC in the northwest region. The former aide cited “growing alienation and lack of internal democracy” within the APC as reasons for his departure, adding that the ADC offered a more inclusive platform for his political aspirations.

“I have come to the painful conclusion that the APC no longer represents the values I signed up for. The ADC provides a fresh opportunity for meaningful contribution,” he stated.

His defection comes amid ongoing tensions within the APC’s Kano State chapter, where factional disputes have continued to simmer. Political observers view the move as a potential signal of further realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

The ADC leadership in Kano has welcomed the new member, describing his entry as a boost for the party’s efforts to expand its footprint in the state. The APC has yet to issue an official response to the defection.
