Christian Council Sees Trump’s Intervention As ‘Answered Prayer’

ABUJA – The Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has described the United States’ designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern as an “answered prayer” rather than an invasion of sovereignty.

In a statement signed by its President, Most Rev. Dr. David Onuoha, and General Secretary, Rt. Rev. Dr. Evans Onyemara, the council urged the Nigerian government to collaborate with international partners to address the nation’s security crisis.

“This is not the time for debate on whether there is Christian genocide in Nigeria or not,” the statement read, calling for unity beyond political, ethnic, and religious affiliations.

The faith-based organization expressed concern over the “apparent lack of political will to stop the slaughter of Nigerians,” while reaffirming its commitment to working with government and international partners for a just and peaceful Nigeria.
