IBADAN – Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested three men found in possession of a locally made pistol inside a commercial tricycle in the Moniya area of Ibadan.
The arrest was made on Tuesday evening during a routine stop-and-search operation. Police spokesperson, DSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed that the suspects attempted to evade arrest but were apprehended after a brief chase.
The firearm, along with some ammunition, was concealed inside the tricycle. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects may be linked to recent criminal activities in the area.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
