Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed Abu Khalid, the second-in-command of Boko Haram in the Sambisa Forest, during a night raid in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, conducted in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force, also resulted in the death of 10 other terrorists. Military authorities reported no casualties among the troops.
Abu Khalid was a key coordinator of terrorist operations and logistics in the Sambisa axis. The troops recovered five AK-47 rifles, magazines, bicycles, medical supplies, and other logistics items.
This comes just a day after another notorious commander, Julaibib, was eliminated in the Timbuktu Triangle, signalling intensified clearance operations in the North-East.
