The Osun State House of Assembly has accused former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and court-sacked APC local government officials of illegally diverting billions of naira in local government funds.
At a press conference on Sunday, Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun outlined alleged illegal payments, including N25 million each to 30 illegal APC chairmen, N10 million each to 332 councillors, N130 million to selected traditional rulers, and N13 billion in legal fees.
The Assembly condemned the use of funds for political purposes while salaries for teachers, health workers, and civil servants remained unpaid for 12 months.
It warned United Bank for Africa (UBA) against honoring unauthorized instructions and vowed to recover all diverted funds, stressing that Nigeria is governed by laws, not family ties.
