ABUJA, NIGERIA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied any involvement in the recent attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat, dismissing suggestions that the ruling party was behind the incident.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the allegations as “baseless” and “a desperate attempt to smear the party’s reputation.” He called on security agencies to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The APC is a law-abiding party that believes in democratic engagement, not thuggery. Any suggestion that we were involved in the ADC attack is false,” Morka stated.
The ruling party also dismissed concerns over a possible opposition coalition threatening its chances in the 2027 elections, describing such talk as “empty speculation.” Morka expressed confidence that the APC would retain the presidency and consolidate its position across the states.
“We are not distracted by coalition talks. Our focus remains on delivering good governance and expanding our grassroots support,” he added.
The ADC secretariat in Abuja was reportedly attacked over the weekend, with the opposition party alleging APC complicity. The APC has urged its members to remain focused and avoid being drawn into unnecessary confrontations.
