Abia APC Denies Planning ‘Tinubu Dey Work, Otti Dey Chop’ Protest, Blames State Govt for

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has denied allegations that it is organizing a protest under the banner “Tinubu Dey Work, Otti Dey Chop.” The party described the claim as unfounded and accused the state government of attempting to divert public attention from pressing issues.

In a statement released on April 3, 2026, the Abia APC said, “The attention of our party has been drawn to a recent press statement issued by the Abia State Government alleging that the opposition is planning to stage a protest. We categorically deny any involvement in such activities and consider the allegation a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.”

The party further stressed that it remains committed to peaceful political engagement, constructive criticism, and democratic principles. APC leaders called on the Abia State Government to focus on governance rather than creating false narratives that could incite tension or misinform citizens.

The statement comes amid heightened political activities in Abia State, ahead of the 2027 general elections. Observers note that such accusations, whether substantiated or not, could influence public perception and intensify partisan divisions.

APC urged residents to disregard the state government’s claims and assured that it will continue to engage in lawful, transparent, and issue-focused political activities, emphasizing that any attempt to misrepresent the party’s intentions will not succeed in derailing its objectives.
