Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State recieved a Federal house aspirant, Hon.Chukwudi Apugo, describing him as a quality candidate capable of delivering meaningful development to the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.
The endorsement came during a consultation meeting held at the residence of Major Austin Awa (rtd) in Ndoro Oboro, where party leaders and community stakeholders gathered to deliberate on Apugo’s ambition for the House of Representatives.
Speaking at the meeting, prominent stakeholders including Ego Nwamuo and Ikechi Patrick urged Apugo to remain committed to his vision, noting that his manifesto and track record as a former member of the Abia State House of Assembly make him a strong contender.
They emphasized that his antecedents have positioned him as a credible leader capable of attracting dividends of democracy to the constituency.
APC stakeholders, however, expressed dissatisfaction with past lawmakers, lamenting what they described as a lack of tangible development despite the consistent electoral support from Ikwuano voters.
They noted that the area has often played a decisive role in elections but has not received commensurate representation.
In his response, Apugo assured the gathering of his determination to change the narrative. He stated that his passion for development motivated his decision to contest and pledged to prioritize the needs of the people if elected.
Other party leaders present at the meeting also called for unity within the APC to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.
