Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan urges Kogi PDP reconciliation

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has called on leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State to reconcile with aggrieved members and reopen the party’s doors to defectors willing to return .

Akpoti-Uduaghan made the call on Saturday at the PDP State Executive Committee meeting held in Lokoja, where she stressed that unity is critical to the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections .

According to the senator, strengthening the party’s base through reconciliation and inclusivity would position it competitively in future elections.

“I plead with our party executives to open the doors wide for those who wish to return. The strength of our party lies in our unity, and this is the time to bring everyone back home,” she said .

Beyond reconciliation, the lawmaker also called on party leaders and members to take full advantage of the ongoing membership e-registration exercise, describing it as a key step towards repositioning the PDP.

“We must go out and mobilise for the membership e-registration. This is not just an exercise — it is the foundation upon which we rebuild and strengthen our party for the future,” she added .

Akpoti-Uduaghan further urged party faithful to begin early preparations for the next electoral cycle, noting that victory would depend on organisation, unity and commitment.

“We must begin now to prepare ourselves for the 2027 general elections. Victory is not accidental; it is built on preparation, unity, and determination,” she said .

The senator, who has been at the forefront of reconciliation efforts within the party, reaffirmed her commitment to the growth of the PDP in Kogi State, highlighting her long-standing advocacy for grassroots mobilisation, youth inclusion and women’s participation in politics .
