‘My Son’s Future Was Cut Short’ – Umuigu Mother Cries for Help After Botched Circumcision

A resident of Umuigu Oboro in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Mrs. Orji Ijeoma, has made a desperate public appeal for financial assistance following a tragic incident that has left her young son in critical medical need.

According to the frantic mother, her son reportedly suffered a severe injury during his circumcision, leading to a partial amputation of his penis. The boy has received care at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Umuahia, where medical professionals worked to stabilise him for a delicate corrective surgery.

A distraught Mrs. Orji, narrating the ordeal to those who visited, revealed that the circumcision went tragically wrong after the inadvertently cut her son’s manhood. “During the boy’s circumcision, there was a mistake in cutting,” she explained. The injury has not only put the child in extreme danger but has emotionally devastated the entire family.

Desperate to save her son’s life and future, the mother has now turned to the public for financial aid. She is urgently appealing to the Abia State Government under Governor Alex Otti, humanitarian organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to help cover the costs of the surgery and subsequent medical care.

“I am crying for financial aid to help my son return to surgery at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia,” Mrs. Orji pleaded.

As the family struggles to keep hope alive, they are calling on all individuals and groups with compassionate hearts to come to the aid of the innocent child. The window for a successful surgical intervention is narrowing by the day.
