Third Nigerian in April Found Dead at Workplace in UK, Family Appeals for Support

A 37-year-old Nigerian, Ademola Oke, has been found dead at his workplace in the United Kingdom, marking the third reported death of a Nigerian in the UK within the month of April 2026 .

According to a GoFundMe appeal launched by a close family friend, Adejonwo Odutola, the incident occurred on April 18, 2026 . Oke had left home that morning in good health and remained in contact with his wife throughout the day, including a WhatsApp message at 2:08 pm that showed no signs of illness .

Tragically, a colleague arriving for a night shift later found him seated and unresponsive on a sofa at his workplace. Emergency services were immediately contacted, but he was confirmed dead at the scene .

Oke is survived by his 31-year-old wife and their two young children, aged six and two . The sudden loss has left his family devastated, with his wife now solely responsible for raising their children .

A fundraising campaign has been launched to support funeral arrangements and provide financial assistance for the children. As of the time of reporting, £4,509 had been raised out of an £8,000 target .

This incident adds to growing concern within the Nigerian diaspora following the recent deaths of a Nigerian mother of three from cancer and another Nigerian father of three, identified as Herbert, who died suddenly in his sleep in Thornaby .
