“Gombe Will Transform With Women in Leadership” — Female PDP Governorship Aspirant Declares Bold Vision

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Gombe State has made a passionate and bold declaration that the northeastern state will witness a significant and positive transformation if women are entrusted with leadership positions, particularly the governorship seat.

The aspirant, who is positioning herself as a credible and people-driven alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections, made the remarks while addressing party stakeholders and supporters, urging Gombe residents to look beyond gender and focus on capacity, vision, and integrity in choosing their next governor.

She argued that women bring a unique perspective to governance, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, poverty alleviation, and community development — sectors that she said have long been neglected in Gombe State.

“Gombe will see the difference when women are given the chance to lead. We are not asking for sympathy; we are presenting competence,” she declared to applause from supporters.

The aspirant further called on the PDP leadership in Gombe State to create a level playing field for all aspirants regardless of gender, stressing that the party’s greatest strength lies in its ability to embrace inclusive and progressive politics.

Her declaration has resonated strongly among women groups, youth organisations, and civil society actors in the state who have long advocated for greater female participation in Nigerian politics and governance.

Political analysts say her entry into the governorship race adds a refreshing and competitive dimension to Gombe’s 2027 political landscape.
