Headline: Panic in Uyo: UUTH Shuts Down As EFCC Operatives Attempt Staff Arrest

Uyo, Nigeria – The University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) has been forced to shut down all non-essential services following a dramatic attempt by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives to arrest staff members.

According to reports, panic gripped patients and medical personnel on Tuesday when armed agents stormed the facility, attempting to apprehend senior staff, leading to a standstill in daily operations.

Staff and union members protested the method of the operation, citing safety concerns and lack of due process in the failed arrest attempt.

“We cannot work in a climate of fear,” a staff member stated.The EFCC, however, has stated that its visit was part of an ongoing fraud investigation, alleging obstruction during the execution of their duty.

As of this afternoon, the hospital premises remained shut, with patients turned away.
