Seyi Makinde Formally Declares Ambition, Unveils PDP-APM Grand Alliance

IBADAN – Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).He made the declaration on Thursday, May 14, 2026, during a joint “Unity Mega Rally” held at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The event gathered thousands of supporters and key political stakeholders from across the country.Addressing the crowd, Makinde stated that his decision is driven by an urgent need to “Reset Nigeria,” fix economic instabilities, and safeguard democratic structures from sliding into a one-party state.

“I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, formally announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the governor declared. The high-octane rally also served as the launchpad for a strategic grand alliance between a powerful faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APM.

Leaders of both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to present unified candidates across all legislative and executive levels in the upcoming elections.Political analysts note that Makinde’s strategic shift to the APM platform follows protracted internal leadership crises within the national body of the PDP.All rights reserved ©2026 CDA News Nigeria.Privacy Policy: CDA News Nigeria is committed to protecting your privacy.
