ABA, NIGERIA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr the winner of the Abia South Senatorial District primary election.Erondu Jnr, the current lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency, secured a landslide victory by sweeping all six Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the district.
The Collation Officer, Prof. Emmanuel Kalu Agbaeze, announced the final results at the collation centre in Aba. Erondu Jnr polled a total of 16,640 votes to defeat his closest rivals comfortably.
Dr. Nyerere Chinenye Anyim finished second with 5,206 votes, followed by Hon. Blessing Nwagba with 4,456 votes, and Prince Paul Ikonne with 4,099 votes.
A breakdown of the official results across the LGAs shows:Obingwa: Erondu Jnr (3,612), Anyim (504)Ukwa West: Erondu Jnr (3,675), Anyim (2,119)Ugwunagbo: Erondu Jnr (3,022), Ikonne (290)Aba South: Erondu Jnr (2,629), Nwagba (1,495)Ukwa East: Erondu Jnr (1,836), Anyim (646)Aba North: Erondu Jnr (1,840), Ikonne (1,504)Prof. Agbaeze formally declared Erondu Jnr the winner following the conclusion of the collation process.
With this decisive triumph, Erondu Jnr officially becomes the APC flagbearer for the Abia South Senatorial seat in the upcoming general elections.
