Police Nab Bandit Informant Suspected of Facilitating Deadly Katsina Community Attack

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a suspected bandit informant believed to have played a key role in facilitating a deadly attack on a community in Katsina State, in what security officials are describing as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against banditry in Nigeria’s North-West region.

According to police sources, the suspect, who lived within the affected community, allegedly fed armed bandits with critical intelligence including the movement of residents, security patrol patterns, and the location of valuables — information that enabled the attackers to strike with devastating precision.

The arrest followed a swift intelligence-led operation conducted by operatives of the Katsina State Police Command, who have been under intense pressure to identify and dismantle the local support networks that enable bandit activities across the state.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was currently in custody and would be charged accordingly. Investigations are ongoing, and security agencies have warned that anyone found collaborating with bandits would face the full weight of the law.
