The Ikwuano Development Union Federated (IDU-F) has appointed community leader and youth mobiliser, Comr. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu, as Chairman of the IDU-F Youth Wing Electoral Committee, charged with the responsibility of organising and conducting fresh elections for a new set of Youth Wing Executives across Ikwuano.
Speaking exclusively to CDA News Nigeria through a telephone interview, Comr. Nwachukwu expressed heartfelt appreciation to the IDU-F parent body for finding him worthy of such a significant responsibility, describing the appointment as both an honour and a challenge he is fully prepared to embrace.
“I appreciate the IDU-F parent body for this appointment. Myself and other electoral committee members will ensure that the confidence reposed in us is not taken for granted. We will conduct a free, fair, and transparent election where all four clans in Ikwuano must be fully represented in the Youth Wing Executives,” he declared.
The newly appointed chairman assured all stakeholders that the committee will strictly adhere to the deadline set by the IDU-F parent body, with electoral committee activities set to kick off from next week following their inaugural meeting.
He further advised all intending aspirants seeking executive positions in the Youth Wing to begin preparing their groundwork immediately ahead of the formal commencement of the electoral process.
Comr. Cokey Nwachukwu brings a wealth of grassroots organisational experience to the role, having previously served as the immediate past Secretary General of the Ibere Clan Development Union (ICDU-F) Youth Wing and the Ikwuano Youths Leaders Forum (IYLF).
The full membership of the IDU-F Youth Wing Electoral Committee representing all four Ikwuano clans is as follows:
✅ Comr. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu — Chairman (Ibere Clan)
✅ Udochukwu Isaac — Member (Oboro Clan)
✅ Louis Iroakazi — Member (Ibere Clan)
✅ Kingsley Okeugo — Member (Oloko Clan)
✅ Egesi Ifeanyi V — Member (Ariam/Usaka Clan)
Community stakeholders across Ikwuano have welcomed the appointment, expressing confidence that the committee’s inclusive composition — cutting across all four clans — will guarantee a credible and broadly accepted electoral outcome for the IDU-F Youth Wing.
