Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has extended warm Democracy Day greetings to the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia, Abians, and Nigerians, calling for renewed commitment to the ideals of democracy.
In his Democracy Day message on Friday, Orji said the occasion provides an opportunity to honour the sacrifices of those who fought for democratic governance in Nigeria and to reaffirm the nation’s dedication to freedom, justice, equality, and the rule of law.
According to him, democracy goes beyond a system of government and represents the collective voice of the people as well as the foundation for building a prosperous and united society.
He noted that Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity, resilience, and shared determination to create a better future for all citizens.
Orji urged Nigerians to continue working together to deepen democratic values and promote peace, unity, and national development.
He concluded by wishing citizens a memorable Democracy Day celebration and expressed hope that Nigeria’s democracy would continue to flourish for the benefit of present and future generations.
