Supporters of Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, the APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, have challenged the incumbent representative to present a verifiable project scorecard rather than resorting to personal attacks as the 2027 electoral contest intensifies.
Campaign spokesmen highlighted Orji’s documented infrastructure interventions across the three local government areas during his tenure as Speaker, including mini stadia supporting youth development, scholarship schemes, borehole installations, electricity transformer distribution, and small business empowerment grants.
“Constituents are demanding to see what has been delivered, not insults or empty promises. The 2027 election will be decided on verified performance, not rhetoric,” the campaign stated.
The APC camp emphasised its commitment to issue-based engagement, noting that political discourse should focus on constituency development rather than personal vilification. They called for constructive debate on service delivery records, education access, youth employment, and infrastructure gaps.
Analysts say the constituency race reflects broader demands for accountability in Abia State politics, where voters increasingly scrutinise legislative representation against tangible community benefits. The outcome could signal whether project-based campaigning can displace traditional personality politics in the region.
