Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has officially flagged off the construction of the 13.5-kilometer Ariam-Usaka Ring Road in Ikwuano Local Government Area.
During the ceremony on Friday, Governor Otti declared that the road marks the beginning of a new cycle of investments aimed at transforming Ikwuano into a hub of opportunities and prosperity.
He emphasized that the project is strategically designed as an economic enabler, recognizing the area’s significant agricultural and entrepreneurial potential.
Governor Otti assured the community that the contractor has been given all necessary support to deliver the project within a 12-month timeline. He also revealed grander plans to connect more communities across various local government areas when the 2026 budget cycle begins.
Leaders in Ikwuano, including Senator Austin Akobundu and Ikwuano Mayor Dr. Anthony Nwaubani, expressed profound gratitude, noting that the road has never been constructed by any previous administration.
They pledged overwhelming support for the Governor in return for this historic development.
