Nigerian Navy Transfers Anambra Drug Suspect to NDLEA for Investigation

The Nigerian Navy has arrested a suspected drug trafficker in Anambra State and handed the suspect over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the arrest was made during a security operation aimed at combating illicit drug trafficking and other criminal activities in the state. The Navy said the suspect was apprehended after operatives intercepted him during the operation.

According to security authorities, the suspect and the recovered exhibits have been transferred to the NDLEA, which will continue investigations in line with its mandate to enforce Nigeria’s drug laws.

The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with other security agencies to tackle drug trafficking, criminality, and other threats to national security. It also urged members of the public to continue providing credible information that would assist security agencies in curbing illegal activities.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the handover underscores the continued collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the NDLEA in the fight against drug-related crimes across the country.
