Army Intensifies Rivers Operation, Recovers Weapons From Criminal Hideout

Port Harcourt, Rivers State — Troops of the Nigerian Army have recovered weapons during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Rivers State, as security forces intensified operations against armed groups operating in the region.

CDA News Nigeria gathered from reports that the operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected criminals within the area. During the raid, soldiers recovered firearms and other security exhibits believed to have been used in criminal operations.

The military said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks, combat kidnapping, armed robbery, cult-related violence, and other security threats across Rivers State and the Niger Delta.

“The operation was intelligence-driven and resulted in the recovery of weapons from the suspected criminal hideout. Troops remain committed to sustaining operations against criminal elements and ensuring the safety of law-abiding citizens,” the military stated.

CDA News Nigeria reports that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend suspects linked to the recovered weapons. The Army urged residents to continue providing credible information that would assist security agencies in their efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security through sustained intelligence-led operations across Rivers State.
