Abuja, Nigeria — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reminded eligible Nigerians that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially end on Sunday, urging all prospective voters to complete their registration before the deadline.
CDA News Nigeria gathered from reports that the electoral body called on citizens who are yet to register or update their voter information to take advantage of the remaining period. INEC noted that no extension has been announced and encouraged Nigerians to avoid waiting until the final hours of the exercise.
The Commission explained that the Continuous Voter Registration exercise is designed to enable eligible citizens who have attained voting age, as well as those seeking transfers, corrections of personal details, or replacement of lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), to update their records ahead of future elections.
“Eligible Nigerians are advised to complete their voter registration before the deadline. The Commission remains committed to ensuring an inclusive and credible electoral process,” INEC stated.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the Commission has continued to encourage early participation in the electoral process as part of preparations for future elections. Nigerians were also urged to visit designated registration centres and comply with the Commission’s guidelines before the registration window closes on Sunday.
