WASHINGTON — Former United States President Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread to his bones and is causing significant pain, his son Hunter Biden has revealed in an emotional interview with the BBC .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the 83-year-old former president’s condition has worsened despite undergoing treatment, including radiation and hormone therapy .
“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” Hunter Biden told BBC Newsnight, describing it as “very painful and very debilitating in many respects” . He added that watching his father’s deteriorating health has been “really, really hard, and it’s really sad to watch” .
Biden, who served as the 46th US president from January 2021 to January 2025, disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis in May 2025, just four months after leaving the White House . His office had confirmed at the time that the cancer had already spread to his bones .
Despite the progression of the disease, Hunter Biden said his father remains active and continues to engage in public life. “He’s still doing his thing… he so believes in this country,” he said .
Former First Lady Jill Biden had earlier indicated that the former president would “live with cancer till the rest of his life” . Biden’s presidential memoir is scheduled for release on November 17 .
