AKURE — The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Solomon Onaola, over the alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl in Omifon, Odigbo Local Government Area .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the command disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh . According to Jimoh, the case was initially reported at the Odigbo Divisional Police Station before being transferred to the Gender Based Offences Unit for discreet investigation .
CDA News Nigeria reports that preliminary investigation revealed that on August 2, 2026, the guardian of the victim reported that the 15-year-old girl, who was working as a domestic help in her household, had on several occasions left home without permission . When questioned about where she usually went, the girl allegedly disclosed that the suspect had been taking her to his late mother’s residence in Omifon, where he allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with her .
Following the report, police operatives commenced investigation and subsequently arrested the suspect . The victim has been placed under appropriate care, and necessary steps are being taken in accordance with established procedures for cases involving alleged sexual offences against minors .
The Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, directed the Gender Based Offences Unit to conduct a thorough and professional investigation to ensure justice . The command reiterated its commitment to protecting children and vulnerable members of society from sexual exploitation and abuse . The suspect remains in police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations .
